A lot of dust was raised after the summer departure of the legendary Croatian football player Ivan Perišić from Hajduk, after only half a year in Split.
One of the best football players of the golden generation of Croatia, the scorer in the semi-finals and in the final of the 2018 World Cup, silver and bronze in the previous two World Cups, today signed a contract with PSV Eindhoven until the end of the season.
"Since I was left without a club I have been waiting for this option, a club and an environment where I feel good and where I can win trophies. I asked my former teammate Denzel Dumfries for advice and that only convinced me that PSV is the right move. I can't wait to get started , to do my best and to win trophies," Perišić told the Dutch club's website.
PSV is the champion of the Netherlands, the champion of Europe in 1988.
Perišić moved to the Dutch club as a free agent after terminating his contract with Hajduk.
He started his career in the Split club, and then played for Ruselar, Club Brugge, Borussia Dortmund, Inter, Bayern Munich and Tottenham, with whom he won 10 trophies.
He played 136 games for the Croatian national team and scored 33 goals.
