He was born in Germany, and in our selections he is already a native. Emin Kujović had as many as three offers on the table - he was called from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but he decided to play for his father's country and accept the invitation of the then coach of the U19 national team of Montenegro, Slobodan Drašković.
He has already made 10 appearances, and the defensive midfielder of the second team of Cologne has three more years of playing in the young national team.
- My father is from Bijelo Polje, my mother is from Doboj, and there were offers, but I chose an invitation from Montenegro, where I used to come every year and I have relatives in my father's town, Podgorica and Bar, which I choose for a vacation at the sea. Of course, I have never regretted my choice, because I can see how much it means to my relatives, they are proud and whenever they have the opportunity they come to the selection matches to cheer us on - a 19-year-old midfielder from Cologne U21 tells "Vijesti".
After a historic season in the German under-19 championship - reaching the semi-finals, and winning the German Cup at that age, Kujović successfully debuted in the second team of the "Goats".
100 thousand euros is the current value of 19-year-old Emin Kujović according to the specialized Transfermarkt, and he is represented by the management agency Sports360, which also represents Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann, which also represented Toni Kroos.
- I am proud that we lifted the cup and were declared one of the most talented generations in the history of Cologne, and four or five players have already joined the first team. I am in the under-21 team, we play in the fourth tier of German football and it started well. In the game before last, I scored a goal, it was a controlled return ball from a free kick, and the coach wants me to shoot. The conditions at the club are fantastic, we have our own stadium with 10.000 seats, five or six grass fields, a new hall with a gym, and experts and trainers from all fields - physiotherapists, nutritionists... I have been in Cologne for six years, I have an excellent two-year contract that it expires at the end of the season, when I can become a free agent - explained Kujović, who was on the list of the coach of the young national team Nikola Pec Rakojević for the recent matches against Romania and Switzerland, but due to minor health problems he could not make himself available.
And in the young national team there is another native Kujović - Arnel, a midfielder from Berlin's Altglienik.
- We are cousins, and he plays defensive midfielder in Germany's fourth-ranked league, but unfortunately we won't be part of the same young team for a long time, because he loses his eligibility due to age. On the other hand, I have just joined the youth team and will play for the youth national team in the next two years. It is a special experience that gives great opportunities in affirmation. The conditions are also excellent, the opportunity for a different view of football, the work system as well. However, the best of all is the camaraderie and great atmosphere in the selection. As for the results, we are working to make it better.
Emin Kujović is a modern, corpulent midfielder, he is 190 centimeters tall.
- I am represented by the largest management agency in Germany, Sports360, which, among others, defends the interests of Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann. It is now up to me to improve every aspect of the game every day, although I am recognized for my excellent passing, play with both feet, counterattacks and defensive tasks. There is interest from other clubs and if Cologne does not add me to the first team, I will change the midfield, but only at the end of the season as a free agent - concluded Emin Kujović.
Football in the first place, A national team
In addition to the football field, Emin Kujović was also a great student at the Gymnasium.
- For now, I gave up my studies because of some free time and commitment to football. My goal is that in the coming years, with a great selection that will play for the young national team in 2004, 2005 and 2006, we will take that final step and qualify for the big competition. It's a great generation that came within reach of the European Championship at the tournament in Wales. Of course I watched, Vasilije Adžić and Viktor Đukanović are the leaders of that new wave of talent. Although, the question is how available they will be since they are already in the A team. I hope that I will soon be in the first team in Cologne, therefore also on the radar of coach Robert Prosinečki - concluded Kujović.
