The football team of Montenegro is expected to play two matches in the League of Nations in October - our selection is visiting Turkey on the 11th, and three days later Wales, against whom they lost (2:1) in Nikšić in September.
After the September games, Robert Prosinečki's team has not won a point. In the 1st round, Montenegro lost in Reykjavik to Iceland (2:0), and then in Nikšić to Wales, in a match in which they missed many chances and, by all accounts, deserved more.
Now the "brave falcons" expect a new meeting with the Welsh, and Turkey - teams that have four points each after two rounds.
"Two very demanding and difficult games are ahead of us. Duels with opponents who showed good performances in the first two rounds of the UEFA Nations League and won four points each, which puts them in a tie for first place in the table of our group. At the European Championship, Turkey showed in an exceptional edition, they played very good football and recorded good results, and they continued in a similar rhythm at the start of the new season in the duels that await us in October, we can repeat the good game from the duel with Wales, which this time will be accompanied by good results, said Prosinečki for the Association's website.
The Montenegrin national team preparations for the matches with Turkey and Wales will begin on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
