Jovović: A goal will come even in your favorite jersey

After "packing" three goals for Sogdiana on the road to Navbahor in a 3:0 victory in the championship of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Jovović packed his bags and arrived in Montenegro after 10 hours of travel. Until the gathering of the national football team, our winger will train for a week in one of the domestic clubs, and then the national team will visit Turkey on October 11 and Wales three days later in the October cycle of the B League of Nations.

Jovović was one of the most notable in the two September matches of the "falcons" in which they did not win a single point - Montenegro lost in Iceland (2:0) and in Nikšić against Wales (2:1).

- Honestly, the journey is not difficult for me, even though I take a three-hour taxi ride from Žižak in Uzbekistan. Those ten days with the national team are the most beautiful moments of the year, in November it will be 11 years since I have been part of the national team, and all this time we all have a common dream. It is a placement in one of the big competitions. And that's why defeats with the national team really hurt, and they are more than 10 times heavier than club defeats in matches of any significance. And I'm eagerly waiting for the gathering on October 6, those meetings and socializing in the national team are really incredible - says the strong 29-year-old from Nikšić immediately after arriving in his homeland.

He should soon make 60 appearances in the selection, more precisely if he is on the field in both of the next matches. And unlike the club, where in 18 appearances this season he scored six goals, with seven assists, and two goals and assists each in the Cup, he is still waiting for his debut in his favorite jersey.

- There were chances, moments, then the crossbar against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and now the post in the defeat against Wales. Only, I left the field proud despite the defeat, against Wales we all gave more than the maximum and somehow the ball did not go into the goal. And we should not forget, the B League of Nations is the top level of football, where some detail decides the match. We all failed against Iceland, but against Wales captain Stevan Jovetić led us in an incredible way, without a club or training he showed that he is a class among the best players in the world. Now we need to get together, play with maximum commitment and try to impose a style in order to join the fight in our group. Just to qualify for the big competition, and it's completely irrelevant to me that I don't score a goal - explained Jovović.

Like the previous games, it is already known that our selection will be without several important footballers in the October term for national teams.

- I know that Stefan Savić and Marko Vešović, very important players, will be missing. But we are used to it and we have to find solutions, and it is up to us, the more experienced, to be the best and set an example for the young. It is very important that we try to impose our game on our rivals, we already know Wales, and we have to prepare for Turkey. Everyone chosen by selector Robert Prosinečki must give everything in order to fulfill the requirements - says Jovović

UZBEKISTAN IS A FOOTBALLER'S PARADISE

After Sutjeska, Crvena zvezda, numerous clubs in Serbia and Czech club Jablonec, Vladimir Jovović left for Asia.

- The Czech league is the strongest of those in which I played, numerous derbies, appearances in the Europa League, but I will definitely stay in Uzbekistan even after my contract expires in December. Possibly in the same club, because the city is beautiful, the league is well organized, the stadiums are excellent. I have everything in the Sogdiana base - from the gym, swimming pool, my room, entertainment, meals... you don't have to leave anywhere. My contract is excellent, the climate, the attitude towards me, as a key player in the team, I like everything here. It's different than in the national team, where you're only one of the chosen ones and my role on the field is different - says Jovović.

Sogdiana, led by Ivan Bošković and assisted by Rade Petrović, is third in the standings after 20 rounds, behind Nasaf and AGMK, and ahead of local giants such as Pahtakor, Nefči...

- We missed the opportunity for trophies, we were in the game, but our team is young and in the first year together. So we missed the opportunity for the best result in the club's history. Breaks are frequent here, and now I have a week with my family and I have to find a club where I will train for the next seven days until the national team meets - Jovović concluded.
