Budućnosti's young footballers qualified for the 2nd round of qualification for the Youth Champions League - a great success for the talented generation, who beat Dinamo Tbilisi 4:1 in the second round of the first round under Gorica, making up for the goal deficit from the first match in Georgia (3:2).
The next rival of the "blues" is the Turkish Trabzonspor.
Budućnost opened the match furiously and already led 2:0 after six minutes, thanks to the goal-scoring skills of Andrej Kostić.
The forward, who is only 17 years old, scored the first goal with a spectacular scissors kick from Lazar Savović's cross, and the second after a powerful penetration and a calm realization.
- The atmosphere was great, all of that led us to get off to a great start from the start, we scored two quick goals. Honestly, that's what we wanted, to apply pressure right away - said Budućnosti coach Marko Janjević.
The visitors, however, recovered from the shock and took control, led by four players who played for Dinamo's first team this summer (and were eliminated) against Mornar in the Conference League qualifiers. Salija's goal from the penalty spot in the 17th minute was deserved - 2:1 for Budućnost.
The visitors could have equalized, but goalkeeper Uroš Ilinčić made several good saves.
- The early lead dropped us a little in the middle block, we retreated, the opponent scored a goal, had a chance. I think we adjusted in the second half, had chances and Podgorica is more beautiful tonight - added Janjević.
In the sequel, it seemed that penalties would decide, but in the 83rd minute Buducnost would get a boost, because Dinamo was left with ten men, after Meparašvili's second yellow card.
And the "blue" team took advantage of that, and Kostić headed the ball to Andrej Camaj in the finish, who scored for the pass - 3:1, with an eruption of enthusiasm from the young footballers of Budućnost, the coaching staff and about 1.500 fans at the stadium near Gorica.
In the last moments of the match, Kostić completed a hat-trick from the penalty spot and sealed a great European triumph.
- I dreamed of scoring my first goal under Gorica from half-scissors and it was very emotional for me considering that I grew up in that stand - Kostić said after the match.
