The eleventh of September 2021 is a special date in the recent history of the duel between Sutjeska and Budućnost. On that day, at the stadium near Bistrica, the biggest Montenegrin teams played a match of the 7th round of the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League, and in the end, the people of Nikšić celebrated (1:0) with a goal by Marko Vučić from the penalty spot in the 78th minute.
The match is special, because it is the last one in which Sutjeska defeated a great rival. Since then, the "blue" from Podgorica and Nikšić have played 14 matches in the championship and the Cup, and the balance is seven victories for Budućnost and seven draws.
If you go a little further into the past, the victory of Sutjeska near Bistrica is the only one in the last 20 games, since September 18, 2019, when the people of Nikšić won under Gorica 4:1.
When you look at the table, but also based on the games after 10 rounds (Podgorica have a match less), it is clear that Budućnost is the favorite in tonight's (19 p.m.) match against Bistrica in the 11th round, the last one before the representative break. But the derby is always special, Sutjeska will not lack motivation either, who will certainly want to end the streak without a win against a great rival.
- The derby is always unknown and uncertain. It is not important the current form, nor the situation in the table. In the derby, new players appear, an individual is inspired. We expect a quality football performance - said the coach of Budućnost Ivan Brnović in the announcement of the match.
Brnović also referred to Sutjeska, which was taken over by Milija Savović during the season.
- Sutjeska significantly changed and rejuvenated the team. They are playing well, it is a young, energetic team that has a lot of energy, obviously they lack a little experience, but they make up for it with their desire, combativeness, aggressiveness, so I hope it will be a derby for football connoisseurs - he said Brnović.
The derby does not change anything when it comes to the approach - the future is going to win.
- We play openly and for a goal more, of course, when the opponent allows us to do so. We will go for the win, we have confidence, we are motivated, we have everything we need and we will do our best - said the coach of Budućnosti.
And Sutjeska recorded its last victory against Budućnost precisely when the coach was Milija Savović, who returned to Nikšić during the season.
- The most beautiful match in Montenegrin football. I hope that the stands will be full, that we will have significant support from the fans and that we will win in the end - said Savović.
Srđan Krstović will miss the derby due to a card.
- Bućnost is an excellent team. We had oscillations against Jedinstva, but the game against Dečić gives us the right to think positively. I hope that the approach will be the same as against Dečić and that with the help of the fans we will win - said Sutjeska captain Vladan Giljen, who will be playing the 400th match for Nikšić.
- It is not small when you play in your city and club. I hope that there will be more matches and that we will celebrate the victory together - said Giljen.
The current champion, Dečić Admiralbet, after two matches without a win, is going to Tivat, where they will host Arsenal. Tuzani already have seven points less than Budućnost, but also a match more.
- We expect a difficult and demanding match. We want to play a good match and win points, which would allow us to progress in the standings, but which would also mean us in the field of self-confidence before the continuation of the championship - said the coach of Dečić, Milorad Peković.

The match in Nikšić will have a humanitarian character
The match between Sutjeska and Budućnosti will have a humanitarian character, the club from Nikšić announced.
- The entire income from the sale of tickets will be directed to help children suffering from Lafora's disease, which also affects our fellow citizen, 13-year-old Radoje Mrvošević. This initiative was initiated by the Vojvode 1988 fan group, in cooperation with the "Volunteers of Montenegro" foundation, with the full support of both clubs. We invite all football fans to join this humane mission - it is stated on Sutjeska's Facebook and Instagram pages.
Ticket prices for the western stand are two, and for the eastern stand one euro.
