Budućnosti's youngsters qualified for the second round of Champions League qualification, a spectacular triumph in a double match against Dinamo from Tbilisi - a famous Georgian club that invests a lot in its talents, is the biggest success of Montenegrin club football in recent years when it comes to younger age categories.
A lot of talents were launched by the biggest Montenegrin club, they were available to a wider audience in just one evening, but no success, including this one, is possible without long-term work and real "logistics".
Srđan Radonjić, former member of the Montenegrin national team, international player in numerous countries, best scorer of the championship of Serbia and Montenegro in 2004, champion of Montenegro in 2012 with the Budućnosti team, only a year ago he took care of the entire youth team of the Podgorica club.
The results were seen last Wednesday...
- When we talk about the triumph against Dinamo Tbilisi, we must first go back 12 months. The younger categories of Buducnosti were not at the level they should be, the youth, for example, were not the champions of Montenegro for three years in a row. Our first goal was to regain primacy, but also to "bring together" generations of different ages, to train and play together. The results were quickly seen, the talented boys could shine in full glory. I am very happy for them, the entire coaching staff, but also for myself - says Radonjić.
The guys he leads from the bench Marko Janjević in the second round of qualification they will play against Trabzonspor. The first game is on October 23 in Turkey, the second leg 14 days later in Podgorica. Whatever Andrej Kostic and teammates showed in the next two-match match - and they will certainly have a chance, Buducnost has written its name on the map of youth football.
- We managed all this in just one year and I think that individuals from our club should wash it off a little more and look at it differently. Because, whether we want to admit it or not, what we saw on Wednesday night is the future of Budućnost and the future of Montenegrin football - says Radonjić.
The blue boys are now preparing for the next, big challenge.
- We have already devoted a lot of attention to the preparation of the first game, which is coming in two weeks, we have collected the material, the analyzes have started. The organization of the trip to Tbilisi in the first round was superb, the players had quarantine and everything they needed to have for that competition, and thanks to the executive director of the club Novak Novaković who is always at hand and who tries to ensure that the club allocates significant funds for the younger categories. I am glad that the children recognize it and give it back in the right way.
There is a long list of players who demonstrated their potential, Kostić scored a hat-trick, the first two goals, and the special first - "scissors" was spectacular, Andrej Camaj scored for 3:1 and a pass, but the others weren't far behind either - already a profiled stopper Bodin Tomasevic, Lazar Martinović who played in pairs with him, the goalkeeper Uroš Ilicnić without whose phenomenal defenses even Kostić's goals would not be worth so much, defenders Zarija Mugoš i Zarija Kumburović, midfielders who are already on the "radar" of foreign clubs Stefan Đukanović, Danilo Vukanić and a super-talented 16-year-old Lazar Savović, a sophisticated technician Matija Jovanovic... Of course, the players who came off the bench - Luka Brajović, Dragutin Šaranović, Filip Mujović led by the standard Buducnosti first team Andrija Bulatović.
- The crown of it all is the fact that as many as eight players were on the list of the selectors of the youth national team of Montenegro Goran Perišić - adds Radonjić.
What is needed for some of these footballers to follow in their footsteps Vasilija Adžić i Stefan Đukanović?
- That they play for the first team as soon as possible, and as long as I am at the head of the youth school, I will be an advocate of that. I think the Future should turn to its children. I know that it is not very easy, especially when you are constantly looking for victories and trophies, it is not easy even for the coach of the first team Ivan Brnović. Bulatović and Savović are already first-team players, some are entering gradually. However, in due time, all of them should become the bearers of the game and the club will certainly profit from that - concludes Radonjić.
Kostić is the most talented striker in the region
Seventeen-year-old Andrej Kostić, who debuted for the first team last season, drew attention to himself with two spectacular goals in the first seven minutes of the game against Dinamo.
He did it ten days earlier, in the first league derby Dečić-Budućnost, when he came off the bench and walked through the opponent's defense, he was unlucky to score the first goal in the senior competition.
The question, however, is when they will achieve it.
- When we talk about Kostić, we are talking about the most talented striker in the region - says Srđan Radonjić, himself a once hardened goal scorer.
