From the special reporter "Vijesti"
They arrived in Cardiff with three defeats in a row in competitive matches, five including friendlies. They are playing against a rival who has not yet lost in this cycle (win, two draws), who received new energy and strength with the arrival of legend Craig Bellamy, and who will be supported by 30 thousand fans: to sing and cheer in a traditional, island atmosphere.
There is little on the side of the once again weakened Montenegrin national team before tomorrow's duel at "Cardiff City" at 20.45:XNUMX p.m. - perhaps pride and the eternal hope that "something" will happen that will turn things around in the group remain. Or at least mitigate them...
Selector Robert Prosinečki is also in a difficult position, torn between expectations - very optimistic at the start of the cycle, injuries to the most important players and results. Which are not...
"Let's not lie, it is clear that there is pressure - we have lost all three games so far. If the fourth comes as well, it's not easy. We can say that we played well against Wales, that we played well against Turkey, but we don't have points and that's a problem," said Prosinečki.
Can the "falcons" win the first at the stadium of the "blue birds" - Cardiff City, a team that plays in the English Championship. Prosinečki, once again pressed by injuries (and new ones are coming...) for the first time called on luck for help:
"The boys are motivated, I have no doubt that they will give their all again, as they did in Turkey, against a serious team. They will not be afraid of the atmosphere and full stadium, as they are not even in Turkey. I believe, in the end, that we will play a good game, that for the first time we will have a bit of luck, and that we will achieve a result", said Prosinečki.
And injuries? There is no Stefan Savić, no Marko Vešović, who were injured earlier, no "freshly" suspended Milutin Osmajić and Miloš Brnović, no young, also injured Vasilij Adžić and Viktor Đukanović, and the newspaper has question marks next to the names of Stevan Jovetić and Marko Janković.
"Stevan got hit, he didn't train, we'll see on the day of the match. It's the same with Janković, who recovered from his injury, but he also received an unpleasant blow".
Injuries prevent Prosinečki from properly rejuvenating the national team.
"There is no alibi, but we really had a lot of problems in every match, players came and we tried to cure them, but that didn't work either. It's not one or two players, but five or six, and those who really matter. There is nothing, we have to turn to the younger ones, the ones we have, Nikić defended against Turkey and he was excellent".
At the end, when asked by a Welsh journalist to comment on the absence of Brennan Johnson, the guy who scored seven goals in the last seven games while playing for Tottenham and the national team, the Montenegrin coach commented:
"I never like it when a player gets injured or gets a suspension, but let it be that they also miss someone".
The Welsh attack in spurts, perhaps not as continuously as Turkey, but they usually "break" the opponent at the start: they scored two goals in the first three minutes in Nikšić in Montenegro, they led 2:0 against Iceland after half an hour in Reykjavik...
"How to stop them? We made analysis, watched all their matches, but every match is different and we will see what will happen. "Wales has great things, a good transition and good players from big clubs, but there are also flaws and we will try to use them," concluded Prosinečki.
