The newly appointed coach of the English national football team, the German Thomas Tuchel, said today that he will work to "realize the dream" of the national team at the World Cup in 2026, the BBC reported.
The Football Association of England confirmed today that Tuchel (51), former coach of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Chelsea and Bayern Munich, will be the coach of the England football team from January 1, 2025.
Tuchel said he was "sorry he has a German passport" when asked by reporters what it was like to be England's third full-time men's national team coach who is not British.
As reported by the BBC, some observers assessed that the job should have gone to an English candidate.
Tuchel will thus become the third foreign coach in the history of the England national team, after Sven Joran Eriksson and Fabio Capello. He won numerous trophies, including the Champions League with Chelsea, the Bundesliga with Bayern and two championship titles with PSG.
