Budućnosti footballers were defeated tonight by Turkish Trabzonspor 3:1, in the first match of the second round of qualification for the Youth Champions League.
The "Blues" were deprived of the help of Andrija Bulatović and Lazar Savović in Turkey, because the decision was that they were needed more by the first team, in Kotor in the domestic league.
Obviously, wrong: the first team suffered their first defeat of the season, the youngsters lost by two goals and they have a tough job ahead of them in the second leg on October 6.
"In this composition, Trabzon showed that they are the better team. However, we regret the goal in the 94th minute for 3:1. We will be chasing under Gorica with a two-goal deficit, but I hope we will succeed," said Budućnosti coach Marko Janjević.
It started hot in Trabzon, as the home team won a penalty in the 7th minute - goalkeeper Uroš Ilinčić, however, saved the Jildirim shot with a bravura intervention.
Budućnost defended the entire first half, and then took the lead at the start of the second half.
Andrej Camaj made a break from about 40 meters, goalkeeper Čevikan intervened badly, Danilo Vukanić was in the right place and scored for 0:1.
However, it was not realistic that Budućnost, without two of its best players, and during the whole match in the defensive "guard", could withstand the pressure of the hosts, and they only held the lead for a minute.
Onuralp Čakirola scored a nice finish off the post to equalize - 1:1.
A complete turnaround was seen in the 75th minute, when after a double-pass by the home team and a shot, Ilinčić briefly deflected the ball, Poiraz Jildirim was in the right place and scored for 2:1.
The final result was set by Boran Baškan in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
"We will go for the win in the second leg and we will prepare to attack and win, but with which staff - that is not a question for me. I hope for the best team, together with the first team players, so we'll see," added Janjević.
