On Friday in Podgorica, they showed that they can compete with an elite team, today they want to leave the same impression and believe in a better outcome - the Montenegrin soccer players will play the second leg of the first round of the play-off for the European Championship against Finland in Tampere.
Under Gorica it was 1:0, the guests won with a goal in the 3rd minute, and the Mirko Marić later had two good chances to equalize - although realistically, the opponent could have celebrated more convincingly.
It was a good test for Montenegro, today is a new one, probably even more difficult...
- I expect a demanding match. In Podgorica, it was clear that the Finnish women are extremely physically fit, but I also think that the girls did an excellent job and matched them. Of course, there are shortcomings and mistakes that we have to correct, and I hope that with maximum concentration and with the chances we will create, we will reach a positive result. I'm sure it will be more difficult than in Podgorica, given that we are playing away and because of the goal that gives the rival a certain advantage - said the captain Sladjana Bulatović.
Sladjana did not play in the first match due to two cards.
- Although Finland comes from Group A and is by all accounts the favorite, the fact is that the field is the only yardstick and that such games are decided by little things. They are the most important in key moments - added Bulatović.
He is also an optimist Helena Christmas, who spent part of her career in Finland (she played for Åland United).
- I think we played a good game in the first match. We also had chances that we did not realize, and we should not forget that we are meeting a team that has participated in the European championships four times. That says enough about Finland - said Helena.
Montenegro is without a doubt stronger when Slađana Bulatović is on the field.
- When Sladja is with us, it will be easier for us, I'm sure of that. I believe that in the coming 90 minutes we will play for each other, we will be a real support for each other and that we will do everything to spoil the calculation of the rival - concluded Helena Božić.
The match in Tampere starts at 17.30:2, and the winner of this double match in the 1nd round of the play-off will meet with the better team from the match between Scotland and Hungary. The Scottish women have a 0:XNUMX advantage before tonight's rematch on their home field.
