The junior cadet football team of Montenegro defeated their peers from Belarus 3:2 in Tuzi today, the first of two friendly matches.
The victory came thanks to a turnaround in the second half, after the guests were leading 2:0 at the halfway point of the match.
Belarus took the lead in the 12th minute with a goal by Anatoli Jacočkin.
The same player scored the second goal in the 30th minute.
By halftime, the guests had a great chance to score a third goal.
The second half brought a better game and a complete turnaround.
Mark Đokaj reduced the score to 2:1 in the 51st minute from the penalty spot, while Mihailo Marković tied the score at 63:2 in the 2rd minute.
The victory for the Montenegrin selection was brought by reserve player Edvin Ličina in the 73rd minute, who entered the game ten seconds earlier.
"This was the first game of this generation after more than two months. We entered the match well, the boys came out high, as we asked them to. However, early on we lost the necessary freshness and started making mistakes in the back line, which resulted in two goals conceded, while in attack we didn't have a real final pass. In addition, we were often far from their most advanced player, who caused us a lot of problems. At half-time, I told the boys that any result can be reversed and they did started to play much braver and bolder, showed real character. He can be especially happy that the guys who came off the bench brought the necessary freshness to the team, two of them scored goals," said coach Minja Ljumović.
A new duel between the same rivals is scheduled for Thursday.
