In the new edition of the League of Nations, the women's senior football team of Montenegro will play in group C4 with Azerbaijan and Lithuania, it was decided by drawing lots in Nion.
Nations Leagues for women will be played in February, April, May and June next year, while the detailed schedule will be announced later.
The winners of the six groups will win direct placement in League B, while the two best second-placed national teams will play a play-off to go to a higher rank with the two best third-placed selections from League B.
Coach Mirko Marić said that Montenegro is again in the group with Azerbaijan, which won both matches in the previous edition of the League of Nations.
"Lithuania is an unknown for us, but this is certainly an equal group, in which everyone can beat everyone. It would be better for us if we were in a group with four teams, however, our goal is always the same, to give the maximum in every game, so we'll see what it will be enough for," said Marić.
Slovakia, the Faroe Islands, Moldova and Gibraltar will play in Group C1, Malta, Georgia, Cyprus and Andorra are in Group C2, while the rivals in Group C3 are Luxembourg, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein.
Group C5 consists of Israel, Bulgaria and Estonia, while C6 includes Kosovo, Latvia and North Macedonia.
