First day at work and immediately a big decision - Ruben Amorim didn't wait long to assert himself as the boss at "Old Trafford".
The Portuguese took over Manchester United and decided that there was no room for club legend Rudo van Nistelrooy in his coaching staff.
The former striker arrived at the club this summer at the invitation of Erik ten Haag, and led the "red devils" in four games after the former Ajax coach was fired.
He recorded three victories (against Leicester in the League Cup, i.e. the Premier League and PAOK in the Europa League, along with a draw with Chelsea), received a lot of support from the fans, as well as the players.
Thus, the English media reported that captain Bruno Fernandes asked the people from the club for Van Nistelrooy to remain in the coaching staff. However, that did not happen, and three more Dutchmen from Ten Haag's tenure left the club.
"An expected decision by Amor, who respects Rud very much, but wants to work with his people," wrote journalist Fabricio Romano.
Van Nistelroj signed a two-year contract this summer, and now he will probably dedicate himself to his independent career again after being on the PSV bench from May 2022 to May 2023.
