The suspension is over, Milutin Osmajić is ready for practically a new start of the season in Preston...
The Montenegrin footballer served the eight matches of the penalty he earned after biting Owen Beck from Blackburn and after a break due to the national team, he is returning to the Championship fields.
The first opponent on Osmajić's return will be Derby County, and our forward with five goals for Preston's reserves announced that duel in the right way.
The boy from Nikšić led the young team from "Deepdale" to an 8:4 victory against Wigan in the Central League Cup - a competition in which reserve teams play.
Wigan took the lead in that match, but Osmajić completed his hat-trick before halftime and turned the score around.
"It was my last match before coming back - I played with the young guys, but I scored five goals and I'm ready to continue the season," Osmajic told Preston's social media.
He emphasized that he is happy to play again in the Championship.
"The first match in which I will play will be against Derby and I want to shake the net right away because we are playing at 'Deepdale', our stadium," added Osmajić.
The coach of the young Preston team was also satisfied.
"Osmajic was very good, and it's great for the young guys that they could see his attitude like that," said John Welsh.
Osmajić scored five goals for Preston's first team before his 11-game suspension.
The last match before the suspension he played against Watford when he led Paul Heckinbottom's team to victory with two goals. After that, in the next eight games, Preston won only once, drew four times and lost three times.
The match with Derby will be played on November 23.
Due to the suspension, Osmajić was not even on the list of Montenegrin coach Robert Prosinečki for the last two matches of the League of Nations against Iceland (Friday) and Turkey (Tuesday) in Nikšić.
