A new elite round for the elite generation of Montenegrin football - our youth once again skipped the first round of qualification for the European Championship after memorable matches at the tournament in Heraklion.
"This is the golden generation, which, despite all the problems in this tournament, again justified that epithet and deservedly went to the elite round," said coach Goran Perišić.
The former captain of Budućnost once again showed how great a job he does with the young selections of Montenegro. However, he highlights his chosen ones in the foreground.
"I want to congratulate my boys on their game, their desire, their attitude towards the national team jersey and their passage to the elite round," said Perišić.

"Young Falcons" won their ticket to the elite round with a victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina (3:2), even though they played almost the entire match with one less player.
"It was an absolutely deserved victory in a game that we opened wonderfully, took an early 2:0 lead and had total control. However, the red card made us play the rest of the game more defensively, and when the opponent is like that, they simply have to create chances, and on our part unfortunately, they used them," says Perišić.
Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to reach 2:2, but this generation of our footballers obviously never gives up.
"We showed character and deservedly celebrated with Andrej Kostić's goal," Perišić concluded.
