Argentine football players have always given a special touch to the game of Montenegrin teams.
It was like that in 2008, when the jersey of the champion generation of Buducnosti was worn by Gustavo Lopez and Diego Jaime, and it is like that now in Petrovac, where the Argentinians - Rodrigo Faust and Diego Castaneda "rule" on the field.
Hulijan Montenegro's last name perhaps best connects Argentine and Montenegrin football - he arrived in 2016, played for Lovćen and Grbalj, and for the fifth season he is among the best players of Tivat's Arsenal.
In the previous three seasons, Jezero was the most pleasant surprise of the Meridianbet 1st Montenegrin football league, and in practically every one of the teams there were Argentines - and that as the holders of the game.
Footballers from the country of Diego Maradona and Leo Messi do not come "by chance" - behind every transfer there is serious scouting and analysis, says Milovan-Mićo Roganović, the agent through whom most Argentines arrived in Montenegro.
- For a few years now, I have been exclusively involved in scouting players from Argentina who come to Montenegro in order to strengthen our teams, and thereby gain quality in positions where they cannot find it among domestic players - Roganović emphasized.
Since January 2008, when Lopez and Jaime first broke through the ice, about 20 players from the country of the "gauchos" have competed in the Montenegrin championship.
- We can see the success of scouting through the examples of all the players who went through the First League of Montenegro, and they left and continue to leave a deep mark - adds Roganović.
- So in the last few years, we managed to help teams like Budućnosti, Petrovac, Dečić, Arsenal and Jezera. I have to single out Jezero, because it is the first team in Montenegro that opened its doors in recent years and gave confidence that we can bring a player from Argentina, and on this occasion I thank them for that. We have had a successful collaboration for many years, starting with the first player who came there - Denis Brizuela, through Rodrigo Faust and all the way to Facundo Aranda, who had the most successful year and played in the historic, first Cup final for the Jezera team last season.
The Argentinians raise the quality, productivity, but also give the game of the Montenegrin teams a special, almost artistic note. In 2008, Gustavo Lopez's dribbles were a magnet for the Podgorica audience, now some other guys are current... In the last round, Faust, wearing the Petrovac jersey, scored one of the most beautiful goals on the first league pitches this season - he shook the Sailor's net with "scissors".
- The current players in Montenegro who play and have notable roles in their clubs are the already mentioned Rodrigo Faust, who scored many beautiful goals in our football, first in Jezera and then in Petrovac. This is a player who possesses exceptional football skills, and he shows it from round to round because each of his goals is also the result of some football mastery and magic characteristic of players from the South American continent. Whether it's a "scissors", a goal from half the field, a header or a volley, so far he has shown everything that adorns football and makes it beautiful to watch - says Roganović.
- His teammate in Petrovac is Diego Castanjeda, who passed through all the younger categories of the giants of world football, Boke Juniors. Later in his career, he sought a professional path through the Second and Third Leagues of Argentina, when the games recommended that we bring him to Montenegro, where we can rightfully say that today he carries the game of FK Petrovac and from round after round shows his flamboyant talent through goals and assists - points out Roganović.
Kastanjeda scored two goals for Petrovac in the last round against Mornar, in a 4:2 victory.
- We certainly have to single out Ian Pulei, who had an outstanding summer with the Dečić team. Dečić came only one step away from the group stage of the Conference League, he was stopped by Helsinki after penalty-roulette. In all three rounds of qualification, he was a notable player, with goals and assists he contributed to our representative in Europe being competitive with far richer and bigger European clubs. Before Dečić, he played half a season in Arsenal and figured as a serious reinforcement for the spring part of the season and contributed goals to keep Arsenal in the first division.
Roganović also mentions Ariel Luseiro, a member of the Buducnosti champion generation in the 2022/2023 season.
- He won the title and also contributed to the team's success with goals and assists. He rightly bore the epithet of a joker, a player who made a difference in key moments and scored important points.
Roganović is convinced that more players from Argentina will come to Montenegro, in order to improve the game of our teams.
- Behind all the successes and the players that have been found, there is daily work, both on the field and on scouting through all the applications that are available to agents today. We can say that so far the cooperation has been successful, to the satisfaction of all parties - the club, the players and our side. We will continue to work, and in accordance with the financial capabilities of the clubs from Montenegro, to bring the best that is currently available for our market, all with the aim of helping our clubs to reach the first historic placement in the group stage of a European competition in the coming years. competitions - concludes Mićo Roganović.
Gustavo is now preparing the Argentines for Montenegro
About 15 years ago, Gustavo Lopez drove the fans of Budućnost crazy with his dribbling, and now, after his playing career, he is still football-related to Montenegro.
- Behind every player who comes, there is a serious analysis and scouting that is done for a long time before he arrives. The player who marked a period in Montenegrin football, Gustavo Lopez, is responsible for such a thing. He follows the events throughout Argentina every day, talks to the players. It also prepares them for what awaits them here, when they come for the first time, all with the aim of adapting to life and the league in Montenegro in the best possible way - says agent Milovan-Mićo Roganović.
