The public company "Sportski objekti doo" blocked the account of the Football club Budućnost and forcibly collected nearly 80 thousand euros of accumulated debts.
FK Budućnost, like other football clubs, rents dates for trainings and matches at the City Stadium, which is managed by the city company "Sportski objekti".
- That's right, the club's account was briefly blocked by the public bailiff and considering that there were funds on it, they were withdrawn and the account was automatically unblocked - says the executive director of Budućnost Novak Novaković.
After two weeks ago, the Administration of Local Public Revenue blocked the account of the Buducnost Basketball Club due to tax debt, another, legally based, but paradoxical situation from a sporting point of view occurred - the account of the club, in this case the football one, was blocked by the capital, which and club owner.
- I think that there should have been a little more listening in the whole situation, because Budućnost is a municipal club, owned by the Capital City. And what is especially important to note, Buducnost has never in history paid for the use of the City Stadium, except for real costs such as electricity, generator, possible damages and the like. Stadium under Gorica, although owned by the Capital City, is recognized everywhere as the Stadium of the Future. Since January of this year, however, we have been forced to act according to the price list, to pay exorbitant prices for every training session, for every game. We pay for the use of locker rooms and the field, and what kind of field - you can see for yourself. Financially, it is much more worthwhile for us to play matches at the 'DG Arena', as we were forced to do this summer, because UEFA banned playing under Gorica due to the poor quality of the turf - Novak Novaković told "Vijesta".
He points out that Budućnost has to pay about 200 thousand euros annually for using the services of the City Stadium.
- That is a really enormous figure, we are almost tenants in our own stadium. I hope that the situation will change and some solution will be found, especially in the year in which the club celebrates its century of existence. That at least part of the budget allocated to us by the Capital City should be given to "Sports facilities" - Novaković added.
The director of "Sports facilities" Aleksandar Vučković says that the blockade and forced collection was not done out of spite, but according to the law, and that the company he oversees cannot act in any other way than according to the law.
- This is the price list adopted by the Assembly of the capital and which applies to everyone, not only FK Budućnost. It is known exactly how much it costs to hold a training session, how much to play a match, how much during the day, how much during the night. It is our duty to act according to that price list. If we behaved in any other way, we would violate the law adopted by the Assembly of the Capital City - he emphasizes.
Vučković points out that Budućnost had many options to prevent this from happening.
- I have to point out that the debt amounts to more than what was collected and that Football Club Budućnost has not paid a single cent since January. The others also owe money for the use of sports facilities owned by the city: Handball Association, KK Budućnost, PVK Budućnost... but FC Budućnost is by far the biggest debtor. We invited them to come to make some debt reprogramming - they did not respond, they could have contacted us ten days ago when they received a notification from the Public Executor to find a solution - again they did not respond. And they were absolutely aware that there was a debt, because special contracts are signed for every training session, for every match - adds Vučković.
According to him, the best solution is for FK Budućnost, as well as JP "Sportski objekti", to try to influence the capital city to put the stadium under public function when it comes to FK Budućnost.
- That way we would get free appointments, there is also a proposal to charge from January, for example, every other training session, every other game, so that the price is practically halved, especially because the club is celebrating its 100th anniversary, but all that must be voted on by the Assembly of the capital - concludes Aleksandar Vučković.
The account of the Handball Association was also blocked
JP "Sportski objekti" blocked the account of the Handball Federation of Montenegro last month, also due to debts for the use of facilities owned by the Capital City.
- Unlike FK Budućnost, they reacted in some way, they turned to us with a request to unblock their account because they need the funds for the ongoing European Women's Championship, and we met them. The account is unblocked and we will discuss the method of payment after the EP. They could have done the same from FK Budućnost, to sit down, to talk, but they simply did not answer our calls - says Vučković.
