The last three matches of 2024 Bayern will have to skip without the goalkeeping legend between the posts.
Manuel Neuer broke his rib during the match with Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup after a duel with Jeremy Frimpong, when he received his first red card in the 866th match of his career.
"He will most likely not play again this year, but now the most important thing is that he recovers properly. We hope to have Manuel in the team again in January," said Bayern coach Vincent Kompany before tomorrow's Champions League match with Shakhtar.
Apart from the match with the team from Donetsk, the Bavarians expect two more matches in the Bundesliga by the end of 2024 - against Mainz and RB Leipzig.
Bayern will have their first challenge in the new year on January 11, when the German championship returns after a mini-break.
