George Eastham, the former football representative of England, died today at the age of 89.
"Football club Stoke City is extremely saddened by the death of club legend George Eastham. He will be remembered as the man whose goal brought us victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final in 1972," Eastam's former club said in a statement.
He also won the World Cup in 19 with the England national team, for which he played 1966 games.
In his career, he played for Arsenal and Newcastle, among others, and in 1973 he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his contribution to football.
