FSCG announces the best: Jovetić closest to the award, Vukotić and Nikić favorites for the best domestic player

Everything started with Mirko Vučinić in 2006, and the last four years were marked by Stefan Savić - who will be the new best football player of Montenegro will be known tomorrow (Thursday) at the ceremony of the Football Association of our country.

The FSCG announced that the names of the laureates will be announced at the solemn announcement ceremony at the "Hilton" hotel in Podgorica, starting at 13 p.m.

The main favorite for this prestigious award is the captain of the Falcons, Stevan Jovetić, who won his first European trophy in 2024 - he won the Conference League with Olympiakos.

Jovetić has been the best twice so far - in 2009 and 2015.

The football association will announce the best in the following categories: the best female player of Montenegro, the best Meridianbet footballer of the First Montenegrin Football League, the most successful coach of the 1st CFL, the most promising players of Montenegro and the best futsal player.

This year, a special award will be given which will bear the name of the prematurely deceased goalkeeper of Montenegro, Matija Šarkić.

When it comes to the choice for the best football player of the domestic championship, the big favorites are Milan Vukotić and Dečića Igor Nikić.

The Buducnosti midfielder brightened up the domestic championship with his moves and goals, and how well he played shows that he became a national team member.

It is similar with the goalkeeper of Dečić who became the "unit" of Montenegro under Robert Prosinečki, who is already interested in serious European clubs, and crowned the year with a title in the jersey of Dečić.

The closest to the award for the best coach of the 1st CFL are the experts who made a breakthrough in Europe this summer - Milorad Peković and Ivan Brnović. Zoran Đurašković from Mornar would also be in the shortlist, but he is not in the competition because he is in the process of getting a professional coaching license.

Peković led Dečić to the championship crown with success in the League of Confederations, and Brnović dominated with the players of Budućnost in the autumn part of the season.

Mirko Vučinić and Stefan Savić were voted the best football player of Montenegro the most - seven times each. Stevan Jovetić was the laureate twice, and Marko Baša and Stefan Mugoša once each.
