Radomir Đalović finished at the top of the Croatian football championship with his Rijeka 2024, and until the end he will fight for the title against the "golden azures" of Đenar Gatuz and Fabio Kanavar.
The former defensive midfielder of Milan has been leading Hajduk from Split for half a year, while the stopper who won the Golden Ball in the aforementioned 2006 arrived on the bench of bitter rival Dinamo Zagreb.
Although they were on different sides of the club (Kanavaro played for Juventus and Inter), the two great champions are still great friends today.
And while many expect that the two of them and the two biggest Croatian clubs will lead the championship battle, the Croatian media remind that the former "falcon" striker is also there.
"The media are talking about the fight between the two champions for the title of Croatian champion, but the question is what Radomir Đalović, whose Rijeka currently holds the first position in the HNL, will say about it. He will also wonder something," wrote the "Germanijak" portal.
Đalović sat on the bench of the team from Rujevica in mid-August after Željko Sopić was replaced and since then he has not been defeated in two domestic competitions - through the championship and the Cup he has gone 18 games without defeat.
At the break in the HNL, he left as the leader with the same number of points (36) as Hajduk, while the regular champion from recent years, Dinamo, is currently at a big minus seven.
Our expert has a hell of a job waiting until the end, first of all because it is clear what Dinamo and Hajduk mean to Croatian football, but even though he has only been working as an independent coach for four months, he has already shown that the fact that there are famous names across the street is not a problem for him.
