Arsenal just a point in Brighton

Arsenal had three fairly easy wins in the Premier League in the last ten days, but opened 2025 with a draw.

Mikel Arteta's team took a step back in their attempt to catch up with Liverpool in Brighton - it was 1:1, and they lost two points after a careless foul and a penalty that was saved by William Saliba.

The game was played in the 61st minute when Saliba and João Pedro collided heads, and a little later the Brazilian striker was safe from the penalty spot - thus setting the final score.

Before that, the Gunners mostly controlled things and created several good chances in the first half, and they used one of them through young Ethan Envaneri in the 16th minute..

Later, Brighton created pressure, at 1:1 they had better chances to win, but the result did not change.

With two more matches, Arsenal are now five points behind leaders Liverpool, who welcome Manchester United on Sunday.
