Al Hilal football club announced that it has mutually terminated the contract with Brazilian striker Neymar.
Neither party has disclosed the details of the termination of cooperation, and the Brazilian striker's contract was due to expire after the Club World Cup, in which Al Hilal is participating, which is scheduled for June 15th to July 13th.
Neymar, due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, has played only seven games since his arrival at the Saudi club in August 2023, in a transfer worth 90 million euros.
The Saudi club wrote in a statement that it "expresses its gratitude to Neymar for everything he has provided during his career at Al Hilal."
Brazilian media reported that Neymar is interested in returning to Santos, the club where he began his career, during which he also played for Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, with whom he won the Champions League in 2015.
Neymar, who came third in the Ballon d'Or voting in 2015 and 2017, has played 128 games for the Brazilian national team and scored 79 goals.
