The best striker in Serie A played the best game of his career in the city of Romeo and Juliet.
Matteo Retegi, an Italian international born in Argentina, shone in the match between Atalanta and Verona and showed why he is currently the number one goal scorer in the Apennines.
"Goddess" celebrated 5:0 at "Bentegodi", and the former Genoa player scored four times - he scored a hat-trick by halftime, and in the 11th minute of the second he set the final score.
Atalanta were unstoppable, and Retegi opened the scoring in the 21st minute.
He scored again in the 24th minute, and then in the 44th minute after Ederson made it 3:0.
The match was thus decided after the first 45 minutes, but Retegi did not want to stop and set the final score in the 56th minute.
Mateo has thus consolidated his place at the top of the scorers list, now at number 20 and five more than Fiorentina striker Moses Ken.
Atalanta won their 50th point in Verona and are third in the table, minus one and four points behind Inter and leader Napoli, but with a match in hand.
And Milan won Tuscany and defeated Empoli in a duel in which they almost never threatened for 60 minutes - it was 2:0.
The Rossoneri were down a man from the 55th to the 65th minute due to Fikayo Tomori's red card (Empoli's Luka Marijanučić was then sent off), and the giant's troubles were cut short by a trio that came on at half-time.
Rafael Leao took the lead after Christian Pulisic's cross, and the triumph was put to an end by Feyenoord newcomer Santiago Jimenez.
