The injury is finally a thing of the past, and Turkey has quickly recognized Stefan Savić's class. The Montenegrin footballer did not play from September 19th to January 20th due to a problem with his back box, but when he returned, he immediately showed how much Trabzonspor gained by bringing him in.
After a four-month break, Savić played the first 26 minutes against Sivasspor, and then commanded the defense of the team from northern Turkey for the entire 90 minutes in matches against Kayserispor and Eyupspor.
What all three games have in common is that Trabzon did not concede a goal - they recorded two wins and a draw.
"I'm happy to be back. I came here to play football, to enjoy it and to fight for the team, to give my best. I wanted to do that from day one, but unfortunately I had to take a break due to an injury. It was very important for me to come back," Savić said at a press conference.
He talks about how ready he is after a long break.
"First of all, I can say that I am satisfied with the team's form, but also with my physical condition and performance."
The Black Sea club has had a turbulent season, but has recently found its rhythm, and is now in ninth place in the Super League, ten points away from the places leading to Europe.
"What we are trying to do is to lead Trabzonspor to better positions in every game - to the place it deserves. We are doing well at the moment," added Savić.

The next match will be a derby against Besiktas in Istanbul, against the team against which Savić played his best match before the injury in the first part of the season (1:1).
"The fact is that we are having difficulties away from home, and we still have a tough match ahead of us. However, everyone in the team loves big matches and I have no doubt that it will be a game in which our presence will be felt. I think we will have something to show."
Şenol Güneş's team will look for a chance to qualify for Europe, and perhaps even a trophy, in the Turkish Cup.
"We are ambitious when it comes to this competition, and we will continue to fight for better positions in the league," concluded Savić.
The vice-captain of Montenegro arrived in Trabzon at the beginning of the season, after nine years and a great mark he left at Atletico Madrid.
