Montenegrin women's football team is heading to the Nations League, starting Group C4 with a match against Azerbaijan on February 21st.
The head coach of the Montenegrin women's senior national team, Mirko Marić, has announced the list of players for the opening matches of the new edition of the UEFA Nations League.
Marić called up 24 players - goalkeepers - for the matches against Azerbaijan and Lithuania: Anastasija Krstović (Sent Mihalji, Hungary), Ajša Kalač (Leotar, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Marija Vuković (Budućnost).
Defense: Ivana Boričić (Radnički Kragujevac, Serbia), Aleksandra Popović (Agram, Croatia), Helena Božić, Tanja Malesija (Dinamo Moscow, Russia), Maja Šaranović (Budućnost), Jovana Sarić (Ekonomist), Andrea Janjušević (Emina, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Tatjana Đurković (Kifisia, Greece).

In the first round of Group C4, our team will play Azerbaijan on February 21. The match at the "Dalga Arena" starts at 12:XNUMX noon local time.
"We know Azerbaijan well, they are a team that has beaten us twice in the last three games. We have great respect for them, their style of play doesn't really suit us, but I also hope that we have learned from previous matches how to play with them. In the previous qualifiers, they played in League B, where they had several excellent games, so they have undeniable quality," said Marić.
Four days after the duel in Baku, Montenegro will welcome Lithuania at the FSCG Training Camp.
"We were unlucky in the draw because Lithuania was the strongest from the third pot. I think we are of similar quality and if we play at an adequate level, we are closer to victory," added Marić.
The February date can be inconvenient because many championships are still on break.
"The key moment in this window will be physical fitness. It is difficult to play two games in four days, especially in February, when many players are still in the preparation phase. However, we can be happy with the good form of the girls playing in Turkey, I watched the games and saw that they are ready," concluded Marić.
