Buducnost's debacle in the Cup, relegation to the sixth-placed team in the Second League, on neutral ground, farewell to the only realistic, competitive goal that was planned for the spring.
The team from Podgorica is one step away from the title, they have 13 points more than the second-placed team, all they had to fight for in the second half was winning the Double Crown Cup as a gift to the club for its lifetime of existence.
Spring hasn't even started, Ivan Brnović's team is relegated.
Iskra's young men took penalties with the confidence of Real Madrid, there was everything - "penenka", shots under the bar, into the net, and above all two saves by 17-year-old Tomaš Đurović.
"Honestly, I have no words. I need to watch the game another five times to know what happened. The first impression is that we were far from the form that adorned us during the autumn, but also in the preparation period, and that we had an opponent in front of us who was determined to keep the goal at all costs," Budućnost coach Ivan Brnović told the club's website.
What next...
"We lacked concentration in the final minutes, because we had a lot of chances, especially in the second half, and the opponent was tough and combative the whole time, with great organization in defense. We were confused, slow, maybe we were tired, which shouldn't have happened, but it's possible. In any case, one sobering moment - a header into the wall that we didn't expect. Penalties are partly luck and lottery, and partly knowledge, and in the end - congratulations to Iskra on making it to the semifinals," Brnović pointed out.
