Jose Mourinho suspended for four matches - two for racism!
After the derby between his Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray in the 25th round of the Turkish championship, which ended in a draw (0:0), the Portuguese said that the players on the bench and the Galatasaray coaches were "jumping like monkeys".
The club from the European part of the Bosphorus called it racism and threatened legal action against FIFA and UEFA.
"José's statements against the Turkish people are inhumane."
Mourinho was outraged by the accusations and is considering options to respond with a counter-suit, and his club has also come to his defense.
"Fenerbahçe will also sue Galatasaray. They tried to manipulate José's words. It's disgusting. His words have nothing to do with racism, they were taken out of context and it's a malicious approach."
As reported by Sky TG24, the Turkish Football Federation has suspended Mourinho for four matches: two for racism and two for an offensive remark made to the fourth official on the team of Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić.
The Portuguese himself spoke about his actions after the match.
"I went to the referee's room, there was a Turkish fourth official and I told him it would be a disaster if he were to administer justice on the pitch."
If the punishment is not reduced, the former coach of Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Roma and Tottenham will not be able to lead the team against Antalyaspor, Samsunspor, Bodrum and Trabzonspor.
Galatasaray is first in the standings after 24 games, Fenerbahçe is six points behind.
