Mainz players defeated Leipzig 2:1 today in the 24th round of the Bundesliga and climbed to fourth place in the standings.
In the first five matches in the Bundesliga today, all five victories were achieved by visiting teams.
Leipzig took the lead with a goal from Xavi Simons in the second minute, and Nadim Amiri equalized in the 52nd minute. Jonathan Burkart brought Mainz the victory in the 58th minute.
Mainz, after their third consecutive win, are 12th in the league, fourth in the standings with 41 points. Leipzig are winless in their last three games, and are sixth with 38 points.
Borussia Dortmund beat St. Pauli 2-0. Dortmund took the lead with a goal scored by Sergiu Girasi in the 51st minute, and Karim Adejemi secured the victory in the 58th minute.
Dortmund is 10th in the standings with 35 points, and Sankt Pauli, after their fourth consecutive defeat, is 15th overall in the league with 15 points.
Wolfsburg beat Werder Bremen 2-1. Patrick Wimmer scored twice for Wolfsburg, scoring in the sixth and 48th minutes. Mitchell Weiser scored the only goal for the home team in the 90th minute.
Wolfsburg has 37 points in seventh place in the table, and after their fourth consecutive defeat, Werder is in 12th place with 30 points.
In other matches, Borussia Monchengladbach defeated Heideheim 3-0, and Hoffenheim defeated Bochum 1-0.
Later, Eintracht Frankfurt - Bayer Leverkusen will play.
