Real Madrid was stopped in Seville - Betis was a better rival than the world champions at "Villamarin" - 2:1, in the 26th round of La Liga.
It started off great for Real, leading from the 10th minute with a goal from Braim Dias, but the host skillfully took advantage of the absence of the suspended Jude Bellingham and the injured Fede Valverde.
The "greens" took over the midfield, former "merengues" player Isco dominated and assisted Johnny Cardoso for the equalizer in the 34th minute.
Betis was not "scared" of the victory, they continued at the same pace and came to a penalty, which Isko brilliantly took in the 54th minute for, as it turned out, the final result.
So, former Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini finally won on his 10th attempt against Carlo Ancelotti's team, which had won five times against Bestis and drawn four times.
And Betis has ambition, they are in the finals of the Conference League and in La Liga they have reached the European Cup zone with their third consecutive victory.
