The Montenegrin futsal team was defeated by Slovenia in the third round of Group 4 of the main round of UEFA EURO qualifiers.
Our team's poor start influenced the final result - 7:3.
Slovenia took the lead after just 26 seconds of play, when Milun Sekulić was beaten by Žan Janež. Just over three minutes later, Matej Fideršek doubled the lead, before Luka Vuletić scored an own goal in the ninth minute.
The guests went on to score five goals in the second half, Nikola Cimbaljević reduced the deficit twice, but the rival soon regained the lead. Luka Vuletić scored the final goal less than two minutes before the end.
"We knew that Slovenia was an extremely strong team. And we started the game extremely poorly, quickly falling behind and after that it was difficult to play. It was clear that the boys had the desire, but that was not enough. It is also possible that due to the pressure of results and expectations, they were not able to give their all," said coach Sveto Ljesar.
The same rivals will also play in the fourth round, Slovenia will host the match scheduled for March 11 in Ljubljana.
Montenegro lost to Hungary and Norway in the first two rounds.
