He arrived ten years ago when he was promoted by Pep Guardiola, and he will stay in Munich at least until his 34th birthday.
Bayern have completed perhaps the most important deal for next season - Joshua Kimmich, one of the Bavarians' key players, has extended his contract until 2029.
"Here I have the best environment to achieve my sporting goals and that was the basis for my decision. For me at the moment there is no better group of teammates, coaching staff and club environment to achieve maximum success. I feel at home here and I have not finished my story yet," said Kimmich.
Kimmich has been playing for Bayern since 2015 - before that, he wore the jersey of RB Leipzig, where he arrived from the youth ranks of Stuttgart.
He quickly became a key player for the club from north Munich, whether he played in midfield or at full-back. The fact that he has been captain of the national team since September is a testament to how much he is valued in German football.
"I have to congratulate our sports management and our board. Bayern needs players who not only wear the jersey, but also take responsibility - on and off the pitch. And Joshua Kimmich is one of them," said Herbert Hainer, president of the Bavarian giants.
Real Madrid has recently shown interest in Kimmich, but Bayern were determined to keep one of their captains at the club.
