It wasn't easy to concentrate on the game after everything that happened, said Montenegrin national team captain Stevan Jovetić after the victory over Gibraltar (3:1) and his 37th goal in the national team jersey.
In the 22nd minute, when he scored to make it 1:1, Jovetić ran to the bench and, in the company of his teammates and members of the coaching staff, raised the number 23 - Andrija Delibašić's number - to the sky.
"The most important thing is the three points, we could certainly have played a better game. Honestly, the game was kind of a second nature after everything that happened, it wasn't easy to play. It was hard to concentrate on the game at all, it was hard to turn it around, we had a lot of chances, overall we should be satisfied with the three points we won. We played for it."
Next up are the Faroe Islands...
"We feel good, it's important that we rested some players, the question is what the pitch will be like after three days of rain, but we're definitely going for the win. We saved some players, now the most important thing is recovery for the game, which will be much more difficult," concluded Jovetić.
