Serbian football players will play in the A division in the next edition of the Nations League - Dragan Stojković's team Pixi defeated Austria 2:0 tonight in Belgrade, in the second leg of the play-offs.
The first match, played on Thursday in Vienna, ended in a draw - 1:1.
Austria scored in the first half, in the sixth minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside. The visitors created several dangerous chances in front of Serbia's goal in the first half, and the home team had a chance through Dušan Vlahović.
Serbia took the lead in the 56th minute - Nemanja Maksimović took advantage of a passing error by Filip Linhart and a desperate move by Austria goalkeeper Alexander Schlager and scored.
Austria played with a player less from the 68th minute, as Trauner was sent off.
Stojković's team took advantage of the numerical advantage in the first minute of stoppage time, when Dušan Vlahović took advantage of Jović's assist and scored.
In the next edition of the UEFA Nations League, Turkey will play, having defeated Hungary in the second leg - 3:0 (the first match was 3:1).
The scorers for Turkey were Çalhanoglu, Guler and Bardakçi.
Turkey advanced from the B League of Nations to the elite, and in the previous edition they played in a group with Montenegro.
