The Montenegrin national football team did not excel against Gibraltar, but Nikola Krstović emphasizes that the result should always be the benchmark.
The Lecce striker said:
"I would sign that we play badly in every game and win three points. It's difficult when points are written in advance like against Gibraltar, maybe the approach wasn't what we wanted it to be, but we remember that we celebrated. That's the most important thing," said Krstović.
The Faroe Islands are, however, a team that can punish a weaker team...
"I have great respect for the Farani. They are a good team, competitive and there will be many duels. I hope we will prepare in the right way," Krstović emphasized and reflected on Saturday's duel:
"We had chances and didn't take them, then the penalty came. If you don't enter the match 100 percent, no one can beat you because everyone improved today. Sometimes you won't, just like we didn't get the lead in time against Gibraltar. If you enter "half-gassed", all that can go to your head. We remained calm, in the second half we waited for the chance and we knew it would come," added Krstović.
Against the Faroe Islands, the approach must be right.
"We watched the second half of their game against the Czechs. We know what we need to do. My experience against them is good, but I know what awaits us. This is a team that is progressing, has strong defenders, and I like rivals on the field who want to "fight". It will be a real challenge and a real fight," Krstović said, motivated to show his mettle in tomorrow's duel.
And in September and November, there will be matches against Croatia.
"That's what we wanted. Our coach knows them, but we also know them from the club. It's a neighborhood derby, I'm looking forward to those matches," concluded Krstović.
