Former Juventus player Danilo, who joined Flamengo in January, does not hide that of all the coaches, Pep Guardiola has made the biggest impression on him.
Danilo and Pep worked together at Manchester City for two seasons (from 2017 to 2019) before the Brazilian accepted Juventus' offer and moved to Serie A for 40 million euros.
He played 60 games for Guardiola.
"Pep Guardiola educates players and the most important thing is how you work and train. He makes all players look at football in the same way - timing, space, movement and possession of the ball, all of that is equally important," said Danilo.
With Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, Danilo was European champion twice.
"With Guardiola, you definitely see a lot of things differently than with any other coach. I was kind of brainwashed with him, but I say that in a positive way, because I felt like I was in school. And it's not like I was inexperienced before my time at City," Danilo pointed out and concluded:

"Until I came to City I had the wrong idea about the sport I play. If I had met Pep earlier he would have made my life easier and I am privileged to have had the opportunity to learn from such a coach."
Danilo wanted to go to Napoli in January, that was the plan of the "azure" coach Antonio Conte, but Juventus did not allow the transfer to take place.
At the time, the "old lady"'s assessment was that it was not a good idea to strengthen a competitor for the top of the Serie A table, and in the last days of January, Danilo and Juve terminated his contract (which was due to expire in the summer) and he signed for Flamengo.
