Nenad Vukčević has only just taken over the youth football team of Montenegro, but whatever happens in the future, it is clear that he has become a part of history.
The U19 generation qualified for the European Championship and became the first football team to reach a major competition - they did so by defeating Georgia (3:1) in the final round of the elite qualifying round.
"Emotions are still there and we have yet to realize the success we have achieved. We didn't do well at the beginning of the match, our rival was better - they took the lead, they could have led more convincingly, we were also lucky," said Vukčević.
Marko Perović's equalizing goal turned things around in Tbilisi, and Vukčević also congratulated his predecessor on the bench - Goran Perišić, who recently took over the youth national team.
"As time went on, we got better and better. In the end, we deserved to celebrate, because the opponent fell as time went on. I congratulate the boys, and I also congratulate the previous coaching staff, this is also their success. We will try to show ourselves at the Euros, so as not to spoil what we have done," Vukčević emphasized.
