The great Carlo Ancelotti on the bench of the greatest football team of all time - for a long time it seemed like just a guess, but Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario claims that everything was close to being realized.
"Il fenomeno" revealed during a guest appearance on the "Charla" podcast that he was also involved in bringing the famous Italian in January last year.
"It really wasn't a fantasy, because I helped in the process by talking to Carlo, but Real Madrid didn't let him go. However, I think that if he had been left without a trophy that season, Real would have fired him and Ancelotti would have come to us... However, he won the Champions League and stayed for another year," Ronaldo said.
Brazil planned to have a strong trump card on the bench, who would play with the team through the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and then attack the world crown with him in the United States, Mexico and Canada - their sixth overall and first since 2002.
The story of Ancelotti and Brazil, however, has been revived after the team was "shattered" last night by its biggest rival Argentina (4:1).
Dorival Junior has come under fire from the public and the media, and many even claim that it is only a matter of time before he is fired.
The good thing is, Brazil doesn't have to worry about qualifying for the World Cup, and after this season, the country's Football Federation may once again go after the only man to have won the Champions League five times.
