The Budućnost football club organized a reception today and presented plaques to the youth players who were part of the first Montenegrin team ever to qualify for a major competition - the European Championship.
Six members of Budućnost were part of Nenad Vukčević's team that dominated the elite round qualifying tournament in Georgia.
Andrija Bulatović, Danilo Vukanić, Andrej Camaj, Andrej Kostić, Maksim Đukića and Stefan Đukanović (on loan in Petrovac) were among the leaders of the game, and their teammates from Buducnost welcomed them with applause at training today.
"I believed in myself and felt that I would score a goal, and when the opportunity arose - I didn't doubt it for a moment. I am overjoyed that I helped the team and that we managed to achieve a historic success. I am proud that I represented Montenegro and gave my all on the field," Andrej Camaj, the scorer of the phenomenal 2-1 goal against Georgia, told the Buducnost website.
The other Andrej - striker Kostić - solved all the dilemmas in that match by executing a 3:1 goal.
"We all dreamed of this success, we stuck together, we died for each other and that was the key," said Andrej Kostić, who added:
"We didn't start the decisive match in the best way, I was tense, I couldn't watch the game and I wanted to go in because I felt I was going to score a goal. When the ball went into the net, I think everyone's hearts were lifted," says the goal scorer who drew attention to himself in the Buducnost cadets, and in the Champions League qualifiers he definitely emerged as Montenegro's greatest attacking potential.
"It seems like the Georgians suit me," Kostić alluded with a smile to the elimination of Dinamo Tbilisi and his goals.
The midfield was guarded by two Kolašin players, Andrija Bulatović and Danilo Vukanić.
"From the very start of the qualifiers, we were all ready and determined to go through and write history in golden letters. We succeeded in that," says Andrija, who, just like Danilo, ran miles and miles in the draw with Slovakia (1:1), the victory over Poland (1:0) and Georgia (3:1)...
"I think we deserved more against Slovakia, we solved Poland with Adžić's Euro goal and took a big step towards the European Championship. The decision to change the way we played in the second half of the game against Georgia was crucial - it turned out to be a perfect match, and Camaj and Kostić solved things," says Bulatović, to whose words Vukanić adds...
"We took the tournament seriously, although it has been a normal thing for us for years, because we also have this approach when it comes to friendly matches or training. Years of hard work and effort, both in Buducnost and in the national team, have paid off, and I would be a little immodest and say that success was expected of us. Emotions have not yet subsided, but it is up to us to continue being professionals, playing in clubs, and we will talk about Romania and our ambitions when the time comes."

"A unique feeling, we all lived as one, we made the nation happy and showed that with unity and energy, anything is possible. We dreamed of the European Championship, and now we all want to perform as well as possible at that European Championship," said Beranac, born in 2007 and who, along with Andrej Kostić, was the youngest on the youth selection list.
The future has made an even greater contribution than the aforementioned six...
"In addition to the six boys who earned our club's recognition, the enormous influence of Buducnost on the youth team's results is confirmed by the fact that a total of 11 players out of 20 from the "list" of our former player and coach Nenad Vukčević went through the "blue" youth team, they reached the first team of Buducnost, made their debuts, played... and those are Zarija Kumburović, Bodin Tomašević, Vasilije Adžić, Lazar Maraš and Marko Perović," it is stated on the club's official website.
"All the starters of the youth selection and mostly all the boys who were selected in our club as junior cadets, and who were first introduced to professionalism through the work system of Budućnost and our fitness coach Milivoj Grbović, who upgraded his work (especially related to the physical preparation of the players and recovery) in the highest possible quality at the FSCG Academy during his five-year work led by our former captain and coach - the legendary Goran Perišić," it is stated.
