Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has said he has informed captain Bruno Fernandes that he will not be allowed to leave the club this summer.
Fernandes, who extended his contract until 2027 last August, has been United's top scorer this season, scoring 16 goals in all competitions, while no other team-mate has reached double figures.
Last weekend, speculation emerged that the 30-year-old Portuguese could move to Real Madrid.
"No, that won't happen," Amorim said when asked about the rumors, the BBC reported.
When asked how he could be sure, the former Sporting coach said: "He's not going anywhere because I've already told him that."
Fernandes has been involved in 31 goals this season, behind only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (54) and Manchester City's Erling Haaland (33).
Manchester United is 13th in the Premier League table, and tonight they play away against third-placed Nottingham Forest.
