Newcastle United midfielder Fabian Scheer has extended his contract with the English club until the end of the 2025/26 season.
"We are delighted to have extended Fabian's contract. He has played a major role in the development of the club over the last few years and continues to play an important role both on and off the pitch," said Newcastle's sporting director Paul Mitchell.
Shear arrived at Newcastle in 2018 from Deportivo La Coruna.
"Fabijan has been incredible during my time at the club. In addition to his performances on the pitch, he has shown a great mentality in the group. He has been the heart of our season so far and will continue to be a key player for us as we aim to finish in the best possible place," said manager Eddie Howe.
The Magpies recently won the English League Cup.
"I'm very excited to extend my stay here. We've had a few really good weeks after winning the League Cup and now we're all looking forward to finishing the season in the best possible way," said Šer.
Newcastle is fighting for a place in the Champions League.
