The world has learned through the Iranian national team how passionately people in this great country love football, and when it comes to club football, Traktor from Tabriz has shown this these days.
And, this in a match against rivals from the capital city of Tehran, against Esteghlal, led from the bench by our expert Miodrag Božović.
Grof's team is one of the greats of Iran, while Traktor has been runner-up three times so far (2012, 2013, 2015), and this season is on track to finally become the champion of their country.
Therefore, it is not difficult to imagine the euphoria that accompanies Tractor's matches in this city of 1,7 million people, but what was seen against Esteghlal went around the planet - the match in which the home team won 2:1 was watched by 120.000 people.
Most did so from the stands of the "Jadegar e Emam" stadium - which normally has a capacity of around 70.000, so many more people were obviously allowed in - while there were also quite a few who cheered from the nearby hills next to the stadium.
Božović has managed many clubs throughout his career, but he has never experienced anything like this. In the end, his boys could not withstand the immense pressure from the stands, but also the class of Traktor, who were racing towards a historic title.
The club from Tabriz is at the top, ahead of Iran's two biggest clubs - four points ahead of Sepahan and six ahead of Persepolis.
Esteghlal is in 11th place, but with one match less, which if won, could jump to seventh place - Božović joined the team from Tehran at the end of February.
