Along with the championship race, Liverpool has had a lot of work to do off the field in an attempt to keep Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
The title is close, and now the worries about the Egyptian's future are over - all that's left is the Dutchman's decision...
Salah has extended his contract with the Reds and will remain at Anfield until at least the summer of 2027, the great from the city of the Beatles announced.
His previous contract was in effect until June of this year and he had been sending signals to the club's leaders for a long time that it was time to say goodbye.
He has said publicly several times that "this is probably his last season because no one has offered him a new contract," but now it is clear that there is nothing to be gained from the departure of one of the best football players in the world.
"I'm excited and it was an easy decision because we have a great team," Salah said, adding:
"We had a great team before, but I signed because I believe we can win trophies. I've been here for eight years, I hope to stay for 10 and it's clear that the best period of my career was in the Liverpool jersey," said Salah, whose team is the leader in the Premier League table with 11 points more than second-placed Arsenal.
He joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017. Since then, he has scored 393 goals and provided 243 assists in 109 appearances. This season, he has scored 32 goals in all competitions, 27 of which have come in the Premier League.
Salah is the third-highest scorer in Liverpool's history, behind only Roger Hunt with 285 goals and Ian Rush with 346.
Salah won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Club World Cup with Liverpool.
Now it's Van Dijk's turn, he is expected to do the same as Salah, and insider Fabricio Romano claims that everything has been agreed there too.
The Dutchman should sign a new contract by the end of the season at the latest, also until the summer of 2027.
