There is a big difference in quality between Buducnost and Sutjeska, as confirmed by tonight's clash near Bistrica - 3:1 for the "blues" from Podgorica.
He also showed that the difference in the standings, which currently stands at 29 points, is not accidental.
The team from Podgorica has once again come close to the title - the champagne has long been chilled, and the countdown has begun.
Ivan Brnović's team, with a game in hand, was 17 points ahead of second-placed Petrovac, and continued some great streaks in Nikšić. The Podgorica team has now gone 16 games without a defeat in the championship, and 13 games without losing to Sutjeska.
The team from Nikšić last defeated their rivals in September 2021, and it is now clear that they will have to wait at least four years for a triumph against Buducnost. They will have their next chance at the earliest in August, when the new championship begins...
Sutjeska is grasping at straws in the fight for Europe, needing third place and Petrovac's triumph in the Cup, but Budućnost was not sentimental about the "problems" of Nikšić.
From the beginning, she imposed herself on the field, wanting to show who the leader and new champion was.
The first colossal chance, however, was for Sutjeska.
In the 20th minute, from the first dangerous attack, Dragan Miranović hit the crossbar with a great header, and Balša Tošković had no luck, nor skill, to send the rebound into the net - instead of scoring, he hit the guests' defender Serikov.
From then until the end of the match, it seemed that Sutjeska would not score a goal even if the game lasted two more days... They did, however, score a consolation goal at the end, after a big mistake by the guests.
The February duel against Gorica was similar (2:0 for Buducnost), as was the October end against Bistrica (0:1). Simply put, Buducnost is a level above all rivals in the league, including Sutjeska.
In the 29th minute, Ognjen Gašević intercepted a pass that was naively sent from the home team's last line, and then hit the diagonal with a fantastic shot from about 20 meters.
The match was briefly interrupted after Buducnost took the lead, due to riots in and around the eastern stand - the away fans, who were just entering the stadium at that time, were not very friendly welcomed by the home fans.
Everything quickly calmed down, and the guests continued to control the match.
Until the end of the game, the home team almost never threatened (one shot by Argentinean Arbeljo - straight at Domazetović), and everything was solved by Ivan Bulatović, with a great escape and finish in the 66th minute - he carried the ball almost 50 meters, he was so much faster than the entire Sutjeska defense...
Buducnost "tried" to restore hope to the hosts in the final minutes, Andrija Bulatović got tangled up, Dragan Miranović went out alone on Domazetović and reduced the score to 2:1 in the 89th minute, but deep into injury time, a big mistake by Nikšić's goalkeeper Stojan Vukčević, and a routine conversion by Ivan Bojović made the final 1:3.
The remaining matches of the 29th round of the Meridianbet 1. CFL will be played tomorrow, with Arsenal - Dečić (14 p.m.), Mornar - Jezero (15 p.m.), Bokelj - Jedinstvo (15 p.m.) and Otrant - Petrovac (18 p.m.).
