The second half of the season showed how much more confident and serious Trabzonspor looks when Stefan Savić is in the team, and with the Montenegrin footballer as the commander in defense, they also reached the final of the Turkish Cup.
Our defender, who arrived in Turkey before the start of this season, led the club from the Black Sea to a big victory in the semi-finals against Göztepe (2:0), so he will have the opportunity to reach his first trophy in the new country against the giants Galatasaray.
Savić played practically a flawless match, and at the end of the first half he came close to scoring the first goal for his new club - after Oleksandr Zubkov's corner kick, he was the highest in the jump, but his header went just over the bar.
The influence the guy from Mojkovac has on the play of the team recently taken over by Fatih Teke is also evidenced by the fact that after his recovery (which lasted four months), Trabzonspor only recorded three defeats with Savić in the team.
During that period, the Montenegrins played 12 games, and apart from three losses, they recorded eight wins and a draw. On the other hand, Trabzon suffered six defeats in 15 matches from September to January, when they were without our player.
"Savic's performance is considered one of the main reasons for Trabzonspor's increasing defensive stability in recent weeks," writes the Turkish portal "61 Saat.
The same media outlet adds...
"The Montenegrin footballer plays at a high pace, is successful in duels, as well as in the air, and his safe play with a minimal number of mistakes is captivating."

Media from Spain, where our ace played until last summer, also wrote about Savić's placement in the final, so the Madrid "As" pointed out that two former teammates from Atletico Madrid will meet in the Turkish Cup final - Savić from Trabzon and Alvaro Morata, the trump card of Galatasaray.
The grand final against the current Super League leader and the champions of the last two seasons is scheduled for May 14. The cup match was supposed to be played in Eskişehir, but that city was abandoned and the Turkish Football Federation is expected to announce the name of the new host soon.
Trabzonspor has won the Cup nine times throughout its history (the last in 2020), and Galatasaray has won the most of all - 18.
