Celtic players won their 55th Scottish championship title today, after defeating Dundee United 5-0 on the away field, in the match of the 34th round, four rounds before the end of the championship.
The Glasgow team took the lead with an own goal from Ryan Strain in the 30th minute, followed by two goals each from Nicholas Coon in the 38th and third minutes of first-half stoppage time and Adam Ajda in the 47th and 58th minutes.
Celtic have an 18-point lead and a game in hand over second-placed Rangers.
Celtic have equalled their big city rivals Rangers in terms of the number of titles won - 55.
This is the 13th title in the last 14 seasons for Celtic, or the fourth in a row.
Celtic footballer James Forrest today became the most decorated player in the club's history with 26 trophies.
Celtic won the League Cup this season and have a chance to win the treble, as they will play in the FA Cup final against Aberdeen on May 24. The Glasgow team could thus win their sixth treble in the last nine seasons.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has become the third most decorated manager in the club's history with 11 trophies, ahead of Willie Mailly with 30 and Jock Steyn with 25 trophies.
