The behavior of Real Madrid players during and after the "el clasico" in the King's Cup final is one of the biggest topics in the European media these days, and the respected "L'Equipe" has harshly criticized the greats.
The French sports newspaper looked back at the incidents caused by Antonio Ridiger, the sending-offs of Lucas Vazquez and Jude Bellingham after the match, but also at everything that preceded the final - threats that the "Blancos" would not even play in the final, dissatisfied with the choice of referees.
"Real Madrid's actions before and during the Copa del Rey final show a worrying evil. Real Madrid behaves as if it is above the rules that apply to everyone else and far from the values of respect and sport, which it always claims to defend," L'Equipe reported.
The text adds:
"Real Madrid is behaving like a spoiled child who cannot cope with frustration. The sending-offs of Vazquez, Bellingham and Ridiger are the culmination of the anger, frustration and helplessness that have gripped Real Madrid this season. The crisis that Madrid is going through is not only sporting, but also ethical. Without sincere self-criticism, Real Madrid will sink even further from its greatness," the text concludes.
