The Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG) donated sports equipment worth 50 thousand USD to 37 primary schools and two educational centers, as part of the Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI), which was signed today in Podgorica.

The FSCG said that the signing of the Agreement further strengthens the connection between education and sports in Montenegro.

They said that the Agreement marks the beginning of a joint engagement to improve school sports, especially football, as well as to create better conditions for physical education in primary schools throughout Montenegro.

It is stated that the goal of the project, implemented by the Grassroots Department of FSCG, and whose main partner is the Ministry of National Education, is to improve the conditions for practicing sports and promote healthy lifestyle habits among young people.

"As part of this Agreement, FSCG donated sports equipment worth 50 thousand USD, which was distributed among 37 primary schools and two educational centers, with a special focus on the northern region of Montenegro," the statement said.

It is emphasized that this donation includes balls, jerseys, nets and other sports equipment that will significantly improve the conditions for playing football and help in the further development of school sports.

Secretary General of the Football Association Momir Đurđevac emphasized that the FSCG is committed to contributing to the development of football in schools and encouraging young people to engage in physical activity.

"The Football Association has been nurturing school football through its activities for all these years as an important segment in the promotion and development of football," said Đurđevac.

As he stated, within the framework of school football, activities and competitions are held at the local, regional and republican levels, and a large number of students and teachers participate in them, primarily from elementary schools in Montenegro.

"Through school football, a large number of boys and girls are actively involved in football, which is of particular importance for FSCG," said Đurđevac.

He pointed out that the Grassroots Department of FSCG is responsible for implementing the project.

"Through cooperation with the Ministry, which we are starting today, we will strive to give school football a new dimension and contribute to the creation of new national team players for our country," said Đurđevac.

Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović thanked FSCG for the valuable donation and emphasized that cooperation between the education and sports sectors is important.

"The signing of this Agreement represents another in a series of successful steps by the Ministry of Education and Science in connecting education and sports," emphasized Jakšić Stojanović.

As she said, the FSCG donation will provide elementary schools with better conditions for physical education classes, and will especially motivate children to get involved in sports, develop team spirit, and adopt healthy lifestyle habits.

"MPNI is dedicated to creating sustainable connections between education and sports, because we believe that it is precisely through such initiatives that it is possible to shape healthy, responsible and active generations that will be the foundation of our society in the future," emphasized Jakšić Stojanović.

The statement states that the project was implemented with the support of the World Football Association (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which further confirms the importance and international dimension of this project for the development of school sports in Montenegro.

"As part of the project, FSCG will also organize school football competitions throughout Montenegro, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation," the statement says.

It is added that the competitions will allow children to showcase their skills, develop sportsmanship and compete with each other, thus creating additional opportunities for youth engagement in sports and healthy activities.

"This project represents a significant step in the development of school sports, and the Ministry of Education and Science and the Federation of Serbian Schools of Montenegro are convinced that it will have long-term benefits for the education system, children and society as a whole, creating the foundations for a more active, healthier and more responsible lifestyle," the statement concludes.
