The title has been won, but Buducnost's players continue to win - last night at the "DG Arena", in the 32nd round of the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League, the new champions defeated Mornar 3:0.
The scorers for the "blues" were Ivan Bulatović, Ivan Bojović and Andrej Camaj. Last night, Buducnost broke the club and league record for the number of goals scored (84) with three new goals. In the 2011/2012 season, the team from Podgorica scored 81 goals after 33 rounds.
Also, Buducnost extended their unbeaten streak in the league to 19 games last night, and kept a clean sheet for the third game in a row. The "blues" last suffered a defeat in the domestic championship at the end of October last year, against Mornar.
"The first impression is that we played on a very difficult pitch that did not suit either us or the opponent. We opened the match brilliantly with an early goal, Mornar had two good chances by the end of the half, they did not aim well, and our goalkeeper intervened brilliantly on one occasion. In the second half we played smartly and scored nice goals from two counterattacks," said Buducnost coach Ivan Brnović for the club's website after the match.
Buducnost will play away to Otranto-Olimpic in the next round.
"The younger players got a well-deserved chance and justified their trust. It is important that we did not concede a goal for the third match in a row, and we were again deadly in attack. We dedicated this victory to Ivan Bojović's father, who passed away early, who scored a goal himself and dedicated it to him. Our team still needs to develop because we started the game with five younger players, and the victory is confirmation that our boys are working great in training and no matter which team we play with, there is no feeling of an individual absence, because we all have great competitors in the team," Brnović explained.
